Hank,
I just did this a few weeks ago...it's very easy. Mine actually "hooked" over the top of the door, but some just fasten on to the face of it. Either way, it's just a matter of drilling holes and using the same hardware that came w/ the ladder. I adjusted it so all the rungs were level, centered it so the screws for the lower holes were just under the license plate light, then started drilling. Of course, use the drill size noted in the instructions. I'm an idiot when it comes to mechanical stuff, but it took me all of 30 mins or so. Have fun.

Thanks for the replies guys, since I posted I figured out how to slide it onto the door but I was stuck after that since I got it used off craigslist with no instructions or hardware. I think I got it from now but the drilling holes in the car part kinda scares me. Thanks again, Hank.

When you drill the holes, secure the door properly so there are no surprises.
Secondly, put waterproof goo on the screw so water does not go into the door and start rusting on the inside. Measure twice. Drill once and ponder whether or not you want a reverse/worklight in the back as well. Adam in NYC

Thanks Adam. Will any screw that fits work? Sorry if that sounds dumb but the guy who did the tech write up on D Web had a pretty elaborate method. If this is really all it is it sounds like a half hour job tops.
