Default OEM cross bars/hitch receiver install on 08 LR3

hi gang, new guy in town here. Just boght a CPO 08 LR3 over the weekend and I am itching to add a few accessories. I am considering the OEM cross bars and Hitch receiver. Are they pretty easy to install? I was quated for the cross bars two hours of labor and at over $100/hour, that is quite expensive, on top of a $300 part.

For the hitch receiver, it seems I should be able to install myself. Am i correct to think it is just a bolt on?

I am taking it in for the towing wiring, but I was hoping to save a few bucks on laber on the other parts.

Your feedback is welcome.

Tami has a set of x-bars she'll sell you. They're used, but look like new. You could install them yourself in less than 15 minutes. Can send pictures if interested.

Let me know how much they quote you for the trailer hitch and wiring harness, too. From Land Rover, the kit runs about 800ish. I could probably sell you a kit, brand new, for a good price.

The wiring harness takes about 1-hour to install with basic tools.

The hitch is plug-and-play.

The crossbars I have are the Yakima roof rack kit, not OEM - YAKIMA ROOF RACK KIT - Exterior Accessories for Land Rovers & Range Rovers

They're nice and sturdy. Easy to mount assuming you have roof channel rails already. I've got a G4 rack now so don't need the crossbars any more, PM me if you're interested in them.

1hank1/dideview,
I ordered a new set of xbars from rovercity. I looked on e-bay, but they were almost costing as new, so i decided to go with Rovercity.
1hank1, I have not ordered the trailer hitch. I was quoted $325 plus shipping, but I have not pulled the trigger yet. The towing wiring kit I would probably buy and get installed at the dealer. I am not mechanically inclined
thx
