Anybody ever mount over head lights w/o a roof rack? I just sold my roof rack because I could not get my truck into the garage and it was really starting to bug me. I don't use it all that much anyway and I figure I can always get a set of load bars for hauling lumber and stuff back from the store.
But I still want some overhead lights for it. I just like having them so I'm considering hooking some up but just not sure how I want to go about it yet. I'm leaning toward the IPF rectangular lights since they are only 4" tall or the Hella FF 300's as an alternative since they are also low profile lights. and it would not make much sense to add lights that will not let me get into the garage again because that was the point of selling my roof rack. My current thought is mounting a cross bar between the factory roof rails. This should be fairly easy to accomplish. But I'm not sure how it will look. Anybody have something similar or have pictures of something like this? Thanks

Ive seen it done before. You got a disco or a classic? there are many british companies that make a gutter mounted light bar. I will try to find the name of one. ive seen them in LRM. I think a cross bar between roof rails will be too far back, you need more light shining down toward the ground in front of you not straight out ya know? I def think its a good way to go for some effective lighting if you dont want a rack. Id go Hella all the way
