Exclamation Questions of Sound System

Here is Deal , please read before clicking on the link . ( Read the reviews on the deal once you clicked on the Link too)

MTX Audio Terminator TNP212D Package Discount (Amp + Sub) Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix

I am currently been looking around for a good replacement sound system , since my sub woofers blew out . bc of my dumbass brothers Friend.

PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT EXPENSIVE SUBS , IM LOOKING FOR (2) SUbs , and a amp for no more than $300 - NOT INCLUDING INSTALLation FEE:

So , here is what i found. Mtx Terminator subs ( Two in a box) , a MONO d-blcok amp and wires for $250. I have researched the system, and pretty much everyone says the amp sucks. ID care if you say the amp works , becasue it does not. The subs will overpower the ap overtime. ( Or in other words, the subs needs more power to hit off of) . So

MONO D-Block Amps: What amp would be a good replacemnet ( NAme the wattage , and the name , im a bit confused on the wattage thing) So i need a amp that can power twi subs with a Peak watt of 600 , or 200 RMS ? whatever that means ?

That amp would be fine. I think you really need to do some online research so you know what you're looking at. I'm not trying to be a dick. A little knowlege will go a long way. Back in the day, I ran 2 JL 12" subs off a PPI 50 watt per channel amp, and they hit HARD. Right now I'm running a Kicker 40x2 on a cheapo 8" in a bandpass box and I'm pretty happy. I bought the amp on Craigslist for $40. If you want to save money, buy stuff used on Craigslist.

Go to a local flea market for anything stereo related. If yalls you are looking for is a sub and amp you will be able to find decent equipment for around/under $300. Also I would rather go with one decent sub over two shitty subs. And dont skimp on the amp you can have the best subs in the world but if you dont have the amp to run them it wont amount to much.

As for installation, if you are on a budget save your money and do it yourself. It should take a first timer more than a few hours and it really isnt that difficult to do.

First of all , the amp would NOT work ONDirty. Why ? the subs will not break the amp , but the sub will want more power , as you turn it up. Thus , the amp burns out. Everybody that bought that deal , said the amp suck , and i researched the amp , and everyone said it was great , but not for the two mtx 4500's

And you Mr.Aron , im not getting shitty subs , if you knew how to read , im spending at least $400 , so thats not some shitty subs for $400. The only , and i mean Only brands i will ever look at getting , is Kicker, JL Audio , Memphis , and MTx's , but some of their products are iffy

SO HOW ABOUT YOU DO THE RESEARCH IN MY POST < INSTEAD OF OVERLOOKING IT < TO QUOTE THAT my sub pickings are shitty , when i have not even got the damn things in the first place. Im broke right now , so what does that tell you ? . So look before you act.

I have owned a mobile electronics sales and installation shop for 20 years. When you are baller on a budget, the most imnportant thing is that your equipment matches up. As with anything in life, you will get what you pay for, this doesnt mean the most expensive is always the best.
I would avoid the interent as thats a crap shoot, try a flemarket like another person reccomended. Considering you are trying to squeaze as much out of your dollar as possible, and considering your rover is an open air vehicle, I would highly reccomend a slot ported enclosure. Many people do not realize how important the speaker cabinet is. The shipping will cost you a fortune on an enclosure, another reason to check out a flea market. I would consider checking out Pioneer Champion Series subs and a HiFonics "Crunch" amplifier. This equipemnt isnt complete junk, should be in your price range, and is half way durable. Im betting you could get a flea market man to throw in the amp kit and lineout converter you will need to hook up the aftermarket amp to the stock system if you bought subs and an amp from him, he also might give you a warranty. Make sure you dont end up with power wire that is all insolation. Also, dont pay attention to max power rating on anything, look for the RMS rating. More important than anything is the fact that your equipemnt is only as good as the person who installs it. Everybody and their cousin Jimmy can install car audio, but most of these same hacks have no idea how impeadence works, or how to properly wire subs to match up to the propper resistance the amp is looking for. A cheap amp and set of subs wired up correctly will out pound top of the line equipemnt all day long. I hope I have been helplful....

Damn dude relax, are you always this stung out. I was looking to give you advice and help you out but apparently you think you know better than me. Have a good time with your shitty subs sir! They maybe loud but the quality of sound will surely suck.

You my friend, are very ill-informed on car audio. First of all, MTX & Kicker pretty much equal shit in subwoofers except for maybe Kicker's L7 which is decent. They can not be reconned, and when they blow, they are forever gone. Some of memphis line is ok, and JL is decent for quality. You need to stray away from the mainstream brands and look into Sundown Audio, Fi audio, Incriminator Audio, SSA, AudioQue, Digital Designs, and many others. In fact, just lurk on some good audio forums like Car Audio, Sound Solutions Audio, & Steve Meade Designs. You will learn quickly that what you think is good, is not. It is better to check their classifieds sections and buy used quality equipment than cheap shitty equipment that will not last.

Oh, don't buy a damn pre-fabbed enclosure. Those are complete trash. Build your own.

You have SO MUCH to learn.

Default Sub

Try going to Crutchfield.com. They will have everything you need to install an aftermarket system. If you have questions they will answer them over the phone and not through e-mail. They have a variety of options that are specific to your Land Rover...most under your price range. I have to replace my subs as well as they are busted...I have bought plenty of aftermarket equipment there and they will let you know what will and will not work or what you will need to accomplish your particular job...they will also give you good advice and tips on building your own box, plus the connectors and installation diagrams are free with your purchase! Good luck!

I run an old school PPI amp. 50 watts a channel and it would probably out push any of the amps you've listed.

It is rather impossible to tell you what to get since we don't know your goals and the music you listen to.

Once again what are your goals? Loud thumping bass? rattle the windows? clean tight bass for rock? etc... can't answer the question really without more info.

As for a amp I would hit craigslist flea markets etc and find a good quality used amp.
