Default Quick winch question...

I don't suppose there is any problem switching out my 5/16 cable to Rover Accessories' 3/8 synth. rope is there? It's a REALLY small difference in diameter.

depends on the length.

I went from 120' of wire to 100' of synthetic. XD9000i should hold 120' but the Safari Gard bumper is a bit tight at the front.

I also changed the roller farilead to a RoverTracks Hawse (sp?) fairlead.

It should fit. Just make sure you wind it on under load.

I installed 100' of 3/8" Master Pull line to my Warn, replacin my 5/16" cable and after 4 years of use it is going strong, safer to use and much stronger rated at 22,000#s.

MasterPull it is! There's a local 4x4 shop that keeps them in stock.

Ok, so I went ahead and ordered from winchline.com 100' of Orange 3/8 syn. line with a crush-proof loop and a yellow Excel hook.

Nice...

I currently have 3/8th x 100ft synthetic.. but when I get my next synth rope, I'm going with 50ft perhaps, and getting extensions for it... easier to deal with, plus hook ups are generally close enough by, and you get the most power the closer you are to the drum.

Haha...down here, most of the times I've winched I wished I had like 300 feet of cable. During one of the craziest recoveries ever, where my winch was the only thing working to save others and my own truck I had to use my entire line (with 5 wraps left as recommended), 3 homedepot tow straps, a chain and a tree saver to get a truck out while mine was burried halfway up the doors in mud.

Sounds hardcore.
