Default Rusty Defender Door Hinges

Has anyone solved the problem of rusting door hinges used on Defenders?
Looking for a DIY solution, rather than simply replacing them. I don't mind the truck getting filthy, I Just hate the site of running rust.

Default That's Possible

But I changed trhe bolts to stainless quite some time ago, though not the caged nuts. It certainly appears that the rust is coming from the joint of the two hinge halves, so I was thinking it's the hinge itself or the hinge pin.

Wink Give it a chance to dry out

Move vehicle 2500 miles south west of current location. Clean out rust. Let dry. Stay for rest of life.
