First I will start with running power to the amp. I would highly suggest you go out and by a wiring kit as you will need the large gauge wire, various connectors and inline fuse.
First run the large gauge (2-4) power wire from the pos battery terminal to the inline fuse that should be mounted somewhere in the engine compartment. I choose to mount mine on the passengers side firewall as there is a ton of room there, it is easily hidden, and there is a great point to pass the wire into the cabin.
From the other end of the inline I ran mine through the rubber cover into the cabin. From there run it under the carpet. The disco II carpet is in three sections. Pass the wire under the first two and bring it up under the rear seats where the second and third section over lap. This will make for a clean install and hide all the wires. Connect the pos wire to the 12 volt terminal on your amp.
Now for the ground wire. I ran mine to a bolt under the passenger seat, again it is easily hidden so it made for a clean install. Ran ground to ground terminal on amp.
Now for the signal wires coming from the radio.
Although you dont need a aftermarket radio to hook subs up it will make for a much nicer/clearer sound and make the install much easier. On most aftermarket radios they come with RCA outputs. Alls you need to do is get a good set of audio RCA cables and run them to the amp and plug them into the left and right input terminals on the amp.
The last wire you need to run from the amp is the signal wire that tells the amp to turn on and off with the radio. This is usually a blue wire. Again if you have an aftermarket radio there should already a blue lead for the signal wire.
As for the stock speakers you dont have to upgrade them but like anything else it will make for a much nicer sound. Especially if you use an aftermarket amp to power them also, but that a shit load more work than just hooking up the subs.
