I want to get my Mom a GPS since she isn't all that great with directions and/or paper maps (much like her son..). I have a Garmin 2610 that I totally dig for myself but is a bit too complicated for her. Any ideas for a stand alone car unit that can have an address plugged into it & go? Something simple for a 71 year old lady to handle. Preferably with voice options & easy to read/use?

I would personally stay away from the Tom Tom. Purchased their top of the range model. On the 4th now and they have all had different faults. Can't get one to work fully. Keep on taking it back to the dealer. Now getting refund and going to a Garmin Nuvi 310. You can get them quite cheap, but it depends on what features you want. For example, the cheap ones will tell you to turn left in 100 metres, the more expensive ones will tell you turn left in 100 metres into Park Street. The more expensive ones have bluetooth connection so they act as a hands free unit for your bluetooth phone, will even read your SMS text messages to you.
