As if a Land Rover with 4300k HID's and 6 Hella 4,000's is'nt already easy enough to spot..... we've decided to brighten it up a little more.
UPS just delivered my roll of 3M Black reflective vinyl that I'm going to go get cut at the vinyl shop I work with all the time. Myself and a buddy of mine was planning on having this stuff cut into a pinstripe for each side becuase I had taken off the ugly gold pinstripe that was already on the Disco, but now that there is no pinstripe on I plan to leave it that way.
Any idea on what we can do with it? We're already considering running it along the length of the top indention on the side, or the lower indention but I wanted to see if any of you had any ideas.
Black Vinyl, regular light.
Pitch Black, No Extra Light.
Pitch Black, Camera Flash
Pitch Black, Flashlight Beam

Try filling in the "LAND ROVER" in the rear bumper with it...and maybe even putting it on the bumperettes...if it'll go on smoothly and not wrinkle, maybe a heatgun would solve that. Might even try wrapping a few places around the roof rack. Just the rear for starters, then maybe the sides and front if it looks alright...and possibly the sides of the front bumper. The part that goes under the fenders, that way if you were to pull to an intersection or whatever they would be able to see a reflection along with the parking/turn signal lamps...BTW where did you get that stuff and how much? Seems like quite a few possiblities for this stuff just about anywhere...maybe these suggestions will help, who knows
Thanks guys. I really like the idea of filling in the 'Land Rover' on the rear bumper. I've got something like that done on my Grand Prix's back bumper in reflective white already that where it says 'Pontiac'
I might mess around with it a bit and see if I can run a few smaller lines of it around the edges of the front bumper up around to the stoppers and see what it looks like. More than likely if nothing else I'll end up wrapping a strip of it around the back middle of the rack just for identification purposes when off roading in the dark.
Oh, and I got this off of Ebay for $20, great price really for 3M brand reflective. Just type in 'Black Reflective' in the search bar and you'll find them. If you want more just ask the seller to send you a bigger piece, thats what I did.

Might try the ladder too...i dunno...maybe not too much, dont want it to look like a transfer truck from the rear...for safety purposes you might even try and put it on those little plastic pieces between the bumper and the body on the rear of the truck...that way its visible from the side and the back....
