Default Trailer wiring adapter

I need to get an adapter to tow a tent trailer with my D1. The rover is a round 7 plug and the trailer is a standard straight 4 plug. All the RV places tell me I need to get something directly from rover b/c they don't have anything like that. Does anyone know if Walmart or an autoparts store will have something that fits? If so, what is the part number?
Thanks!

I had a trailor shop set mine up a couple of years ago except we set the Rover to handle the standard round plug and they sold me a $10 adapter so I could plug in the U-Haul 4 prong into the adapter and plug the adapter into the truck.
Might want to check with a good trailor shop, I think you have lots of options.

No, that is not a 7 prong and I need it to go from a 7 prong to a flat 4 prong. It will have to be a female end to plug into the 7 prong male end.

sorry I don't tow with the rover. That one fits has a 7-blade (RV) female end and both a 6 way and flat 4 prong male ends. Wasn't sure if the 7 prong your looking for and the 7-blade (RV) were the same.

It is a 7 prong....everyone has something for the blades. syoung over on Dweb says the wire coloring is the same so I should just cut off the round prong plug and put in a universal flat prong plug.

yup- and I think so over here too... I chopped the Euro plug off and installed a Hoppy one I got at Wally Mart for $12. Took 15 minutes tops.

I might be haulin' a pop up camper, sorta like X's, but the trailer has a 6 prong setup, and there is a battery on the tongue of the trailer, to power things like the mini-fridge and interior lights, if there is no 120V plugs at any campsite.

Now, I am sure I can get something at Walmart, but seem not able to figure out the wires, there are 7 stray wires right of the hitch on my truck.

Anyone have a wiring diagram of which wires do what? : Last time I tried to put a flat 4 plug, I kept blowing the 20 Amp fuse under the dash that controls the PRND321 switch in the center console, the turn signals, and I couldn't shift out of Park, real hairy situation. So I just took it all off for safety's sake.

Lastly, anyone recommend what kind of plug I should get for the trailer?

Go toU-Haul...they have one that plugs right into you 4-pin....if you don't have the brake controler you won't have brakes...But you will have all lights!!!! Also... if it's a pop up you don't need the brakes right now!!!.... my pop-up has no brakes at all!!

With the defender it is easy... open up the rear light boxes, install a power block, snip the wires and insert into the power block. Attach the wired to the lights to the other side... get a four prong connector from walmart, tie it into the power block, and bob is you uncle.... added advantage.. ifyou every have to flat tow your vehicle, you just have to get a long trailer wire set, hook in to the power block, run it through the truck, and you have all your rear lights...

That's what I had done. Replaced the 7 prong round with a 7 prong flat. The replacement plug was $8.95 CDN.
