Default True Flow Air Filters

Customers have been asking me about these like crazy! I mainly deal with KN. How good are these things? They are foam filters. Everyone's told me that they were at SEMA this past year but thats the one year we didnt go. I hear they have better filtration and better air flow than KNs. They are also reusable. On the Scorpion Racing site you can find foam filters but I have no clue how to order them.

Visit their site and please post your thoughts and opinions...

True Flow Filters

I've sent them an email asking if they'll be making any filters for Land Rovers. No response yet (4 days and counting)

JC, you can't order anything directly from Scorpion, you have to do it thru us. Unfortunately that's the way they want it. They don't even want another US distributor. I'll look into the air filters for you and get a price.

Well if they aren't that much $$, I'd be willing to try one. I am trying the Napa Gold out this week to how much it really differs from the K&N. I have found air filters are like spark plugs...there is as much debate out there as one needs. In the final analysis...every rover is different and different plugs and air filters work for different rovers.

Right you are X...not only that, they differ mainly because of the climates they are operated in.

I'm thinking about utilizing two different types of filters...one for when I offroad and another for when I do my daily driving. I think I will use the K&N for daily driving and a paper filter for offroad. Reasoning: the K&N has a higher air flow ratio for my rig when I do freeway driving. The air filter has great filtering for offroad dust and so forth. What are your thoughts on that? It's really not that big of a deal to switch out an air filter when you go on an offroad trip. Takes 2 seconds.

Used to use the foam filters in some of my cars that I owned a few years back, and I loved them. I think they were made by HKS. Flowed great and the filtration depends on how much you oil them. Saying they filter "better" than a paper filter would be a far stretch though. Although have never had any experiance with the paricular filter you are talking about. The other thing that happens with a foam filter after some time, chunks start coming off of them! Now I am talking four or more years, but you wouldn't want a chunk of foam f'ing with the MAF sensor. Once again, my experiance only comes from the HKS foam open element type filters, and I would go with a foam again. Just a heads up on some things that could go wrong.

My .02 cents

I swa true flow demonstration by one of their reps at a local 4x4 shop. I was impressed. At that time, there wasn't an application for Discoveries, but he told me to get the demensions and go through their other filters ans see if something was close. I didn't at that time.

I've already sent them an email asking if and when they'd be making any and that if they needed a test vehicle, I was up for volunteering my truck. I really hop they get back to me. I told them that foam filters would be ideal for expedition/off road vehicles and that the Rover guys would really appreciate anything that wouldnt damage our $600 MAFs.

my e-mail keeps being rejected.....I assume its because they have a million people asking them similar questions atm.

Perhaps I will call them soon, or someone else can.

whats even more amazing is that im not running to my rover to rip out the K&N filter...but the video made me cringe......hard proof that K&N doesnt filter as well as paper.

I almost want to post this on dweb and see what the reaction to it is.
