Default Ujointed Prop-Shafts from Red Rhino...

Anyone of you guys have one of these? Is there a better option? I plan to go up to a 2.5 lift and the ones from Red Rhino are to be used on 2-5" lifted trucks!

Have you looked into a Tom Woods double cardon?

Let me know what they quote you. I might be able to get you a good deal from another source.

Hold on a sec junior, you're talking about replacing the rear DS rotoflex for a u-joint, correct? Then why would you install a DC in the rear? Unless you plan on going 5" or more I don't think you need a DC for the rear. You might want to look into a DC DS for the front but I wouldn't do it 'till you have the lift on the truck and see if you get vibes.

Let me give you an example, Adrian has a 3" lift on his 98 DI and has no vibes. He has the stock radius arms. I ran a 2.5" lift (until recently) with castor and offset arms and had some vibes in the front. I installed a DC front DS and the vibes are minimal. So if you plan on installing a 2.5 or 3 inch lift and not replacing the front arms then I don't think you will need a DC DS. Save your money for the things you really need.

I believe TW also comes single. The reason I suggested double was knowing what "junior" wants to do with his truck. Why spend the money twice?

Edit: this is just IMHO of course.

I would stay away from Red Rhino. Do a search on Dweb.

Haha, Thank you John...once again you save me from myself!...lol RN has a conversion kit. They've got a good deal on those, and whenever AB has sales, they almost always include those Kits in there. Last time they had a sale i think they were going for something like 199.95

It is my understanding that the U-joint kits seem to fail at an alarmingly high rate. Am I mistaken in this belief?

JC, you can do the conversion for less. Adrian has a RR rear DS, all you need now is the 4 bolt flange. The flange runs for about 89 bucks new from AB. I'll talk to Adrian and see what he wants for the DS.

Ryan, what did you do with the front DC shaft? You still have it? Let me know.
