Default Used Ramsey Winch Value

I have a chance to acquire a used Ramsey 8000(aprox 7 yrs old). All (remote, roller fairlead, cable in decent shape from what I could tell)in working order. The winch is not mounted to vehicle anymore so couldn't test under load.It did free spool easily and worked pretty quietly pulling back in.My question is there anything that is common or something to check or look for while testing winch before I buy. Also what would be aprox going rate for unit like that(asking price is 350.00).Any advice before I go check out before handing over some cash would be appreciated.

If it's in good shape thats a good price for it. Those Ramsey winches are beasts

What type Ramsey is it? The worm gear winches are much more expensive than the planetary. Any used Planetary is just that, a used winch. Worm gear winches can still pull a house down 20 years later, but they are very heavy and often difficult to mount to today's general 4x4 SUV. They're more suited to a truck install where they can let it all hang out. I have one on a 109, but wouldn't consider puting it on a Disco or RR.

I have an RE10000 on my Disco. With some work you can tuck it up pretty good, though it does still hang down further than I'd like. But I only paid $200 for it and it's one of the best winches on the market.

Default Ramsey

It is is a Rep 8000 for whatever that is worth(literally).I have Roxstar front bumper(sliders and rear bumper as well) that sits pretty tight to front end and will require some editing to plastic grill to mount but other than that ready to bolt on.
