I have yet to see a color disco that the blackout doesn't look good on. Green, Portofino Red, White Gold, Maya Gold, Silver, AA Yellow, G4 Tangiers Orange, Black, Bonnati Gray, etc.. it enhances the apperance on all of them (and serves functionally as a glare reducer). Wax is fine for it, and even perhaps good for it. I've gotten wax on it many times, I've even used back-to-black on it (not that it was fading, I just get a little too carried away whenever i use that stuff!)

...I think the logo does a good job of making it more noticable. If you are talking on a purely aesthetic level, there isnt much contrast between the blackout and the vehicle.....functionality wise, it does the job, you will not regret it if you run powerful overhead lights.

Well, it only took my lazy butt a month to do this project, but it's done. Thanks to Vigg and Ryan for the group buy. Here's a pic of the 03 DII, note that the silver 'Vigg Designs' sticker is also on the hood, on the driver side parallel to the blackout...figured I'd give credit to the source for helping us out on the group buy. Can't guarantee the Vigg logo will be there long term...as it looks a bit rice-ish, but I'll advertise long ehough for all the local LR nuts to see the goods at the Florida Club rally later this month. The finished product is top notch. Now...to get those springs in...

Soon I will have a black out covering the front lip and mid section of the hood to the back of the hood, but it is made of vinyl.
LOL More or less it is a "T-Bra", but not a black out. LOL

Hood black outs are great. When the sun drops low and you have to drive into it the blackout is worth it.
