Default Will it fit?

Alright I have now got the money from selling a few things for a lift and tires on my 88' RRC. I have already made up my mind on a 3' RTE with rancho's, but have the front externally mounted and used my EE spring retainer to hold it in and the rear will have cones. It will also have a 2' Body lift on top of that........ Can I fit the super swamper SS TSL 34' or the 34' LTB with out rubbing? do i need extended bump stops? they will be mounted on the stock rims and I have done a shit load of trimming. I know the LTB's don't last long if you drive them on the road but what about the special service TSL?

I didn't realize they made an SS TLS in 34. I can't speak for that tire, but I know the LTBs run closer to 33,,,,,,,just under with some wear.

Nomar is the guy to ask about RRC tire fitment.

In terms of wear, the LTBs & SSs should wear about the same.

Nomar's helped me out a lot because he does have that sus. set-up with 34 ltb's. Everyone says they run shorter than they are unlike other SS's. I still like the TSL but I don't know how bad they'll rub. SS says it's 33.8 inches tall and design for skinny rims like dually's or stock rims

3" springs and a body lift will be plenty. Did you already buy the Ranchos... cause they kinda suck. If so, what length are they? You may not need retainers or cones. You just need a whole lot more of everything else. Those 10 spline axles are gonna snap, your drive shafts are weak as well as pinion angle will be way off. Trailing arms, blah blah blah. Move from a 2" lift and 32" tires and you really start messing with the dynamics of your truck. But it'll look cool.

I haven't bought anything yet, I do plan on do trailing arms,brakelines,a-arm extension, front trailing arms all from RTE...... What kind of shock would you recommend that doesn't cost a fortune?

I know the front driveshaft will need to be upgraded and I've heard D2 shafts work fine. I plan on trying to find a used Salisbury axle for the rear and maybe even a front one if it's not too much $$$. If so I'll buy a used 94' classic 24-spline axle and housing from marty

I've decided on some fox 2.0 shocks but not sure if I should get the 12' travel or 10'? I want the most amount of flex possible

Good choice on shocks! They will require some modifications as they are loop to loop I'm pretty sure. I get really great travel out of my 10" but if I could do it over again, I ould go 10" up front and 12" in rear.

now I'm pretty sure i could run the 12' in the rear with rovertym shock mounts but the front will have to be custom. I talked to the guy at rovertym and he warned me to stay away from fox shocks? but the blingistiens are way to much for me. Can you show my how your front shock is mounted? And i'm assuming their retained from and rear?

RoverTym warned you cause they don't sell Fox... get it wink, wink. In truth they (Steven & Seth) are great guys and have done alot of business with them. Typically Disco shocks got though the coil up front, but I have something that was made for a D90 that was tweaked a little for the Disco from Safari Gard. See the install pic attached. That was for the upper. On the axle tabs were welded to the axle. The tabs are available here

I'm gonna have a local shop fab up a custom mount so maybe I could run two 12' in travel shocks up front or should I stick with 10'? I have no clue about any of this and stuck on the fence about shocks, thanks steven for the help so far

I found a great deal on (4) 12-inch travel fox's , Could I fit them on rovertym rear mounts even though they are 31 nches fully extended? I know the front will have to be all custom

That's the last thing they try to do.. they actually convinced me to buy a part elsewhere instead of from them for my needs/budget constraint. That alone showed me that they are straight shooters.

I know they are great people from their rep. on various boards, But i'm just wondering about the shock length. They are almost 32' fully extended and almost 20 inches fully compressed

I think the 12" in rear is fine. Alot of folks run that length shock in the rear, especially with 3+ inches of lift. I assume they are heim jointed, so you'll need to make sure you get the right shock mounts. The fronts will take some more work. Good luck and post some build pics.
