Question Winch No Work!

My T-max 9500 winch is refusing to work! It appears that 1 of the solenoids is working, the other is not. Even when the solenoid activates nothing happens!

I have checked an cleaned the contacts and the winch is getting 12 volts!

I can move the clutch lever and pull cable out too and when the clutch is engaged the drum does not turn.

What could be wrong?

I am going to take the winch out now to get a better look at it.

If you winched for a long period of time, and even if you didn't, the solenoid could have gotten hot inside and the contact moved. Buy a Ford starter solenoid and replace it.

You're in the UK - get an Albright solenoid. One sealed unit does it all. I kept burning out the cheap solenoids on my X9 and the Albright was the answer.
