Default Body Shops in San Diego

Can anyone recommend a good body shop in the San Diego / Southern California area? West Coast Specialties (the shop recommended by Land Rover Miramar) just declined to work on my Rover due to wanting to order all the parts themselves. I guess me having a body panel for them to install is asking too much?

Hey. WCS, are the in the El Cajon area? There is a place off El cajon BLVD, near "Chicken Pie Shop" I don't recall the name. Mind you I now live in Louisville,Ky. So, it's been a few years since I last visited. Damn, I sure miss SD!

They are off Miramar Rd (near the Air Base). The Rover Group just replied to my e-mail and are going to work me in for a quote. I can't wait to find out the $damage$.

The Rover Group just called back with a labor quote (not parts) of $1100. I think I like my plastic window better.

LOL..that is quite expensive for a labor only. do you only want to replace the window or is there any body panel that is needed to be replaced also?

I think that according to RAVE, putting those stuff on is a lot of work. you can probably do it yourself if you have the time.

I checked out RAVE last night and it appeared very straight forward. Simplifying a bit, the panel just bolts right on. I'm going to hit a couple more shops out here for quotes, but I think I'm going to be relegated to just installing it myself and going to a paint shop to finish up. Body shops see a Land Rover and do their best to gouge you.

Great success!

I found a shop that will paint the panel for $250 with the average of the others being around $300 if I do the install.

Too bad for the indy rover shops. I'd love to stimulate the economy but they are a bunch of thieves.
