Information will be available on the website beginning January 16, 2008, and will include the open house schedule and maps. “We encourage the public to review and comment on the proposed changes to our travel management system,” said Will Metz, Forest Supervisor for the Cleveland NF. After an extensive screening process, the Cleveland NF is proposing to add approximately 12 miles of roads and trails and two small open areas to its motorized route system. To comply with the 2005 travel management rule, the Cleveland NF will produce a motor vehicle use map in 2008. This map will identify which roads and trails are open for motorized use on the Cleveland NF. Additional changes to motorized use on the Cleveland NF would require further environmental analysis and would occur gradually over time as staffing and budget allow. The map will be updated annually to reflect any such changes. Questions regarding the proposal should be directed to Anne Carey, recreation planning officer for the Cleveland NF, at (858) 673-6180. Written comments on the proposal can be mailed to: Cleveland NF, ATTN: Route Designation –Anne Carey, 10845 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92127-2107. Comments can be sent via email to: r5_cleveland_ohv_suggestions@fs.fed.us.
