I'll get some pics up soon. Any I posted right now would look like an LR abused in the suburban fashion--boring. Actually, boring, with little more than the evidende of neglectful runs to the mall until the bored housewife got sick of the CELs and three amigos and turned the rig in. On a plus side, once I get the headgasket dealt with, the rest of the rig looks solid. Very little leakage and no scratches at all under the frame and under-bits. Like I said, neglectful mall runs for 103K and sold.
Right now I'm thinking about going to Biggs in Bellevue for the headgasket. For about $2500 they'd do the headgasket, plugs, wires, belt, MAF and O2 sensor. I'm willing to blow off the 3 Amigos for a while--that's over $1500 to get fixed?!?! Regarding the headgasket, if done by someone that's familiar with Mitsubishi and Toyota products, do you think it would be obvious/apparent if there were problems that caused the gashet to fail? The reason I ask is that I have a friend in Bothell that's done a lot of work for me and I usually like to run my cars past him. But... I don't want to get the LR "fixed" and then get the same problem in 10K, ya know?
BTW, I put "Seattle" in the location because outside of WA no one knows where Bremerton is. It's a dead-sexy town, so I don't know why it gets ignored! :^D
