The closure, which went into effect October 22, will continue through the end of the fire emergency. The use of Cleveland NF recreation facilities, lands, roads, or trails is prohibited. Violators are subject to fines and/or imprisonment. For additional information, visit www.fs.fed.us/r5/cleveland. “Hotspots still exist in the fire areas and moderate santa ana winds are forecasted for this weekend. Currently, the Harris Fire has burned 4,481 acres, the Poomacha Fire has burned 5,574 acres, the Santiago Fire has burned 6,617 acres, and the Witch Fire has burned 44,150 acres, for a total of 60,822 burned acres of National Forest System land. While the closure is in effect, two Burned Area Emergency Response teams will be evaluating fire damage. Final reports will be available within two weeks of containment of the fires.
