Newbie needing a motor. I bought a 98 DI with some "motor noise", but developed a bad rod knock 45 minutes down the highway, didn't even make it home, ended up towing it home.
So I'm in need a motor, long or short block. Or if someone can tell me a good place to buy a rebuild kit, I'll pull the motor and tear it down and have a machine shop rebuild it. But it was damn near throwing a rod I think so let me know what you have. Thanks, GCN. gcn8@hotmail.com

i'm parting out my 99 series 1 because i had the same problem you had and it did punch through the block i guess when the steel cyclinder liner dropped - driver's side. so anyway if you need anything beside the block let me know.

Wouldn't that be a 4.0? I'm probably wrong since I'm a newbie to the Rovers but if I am wrong, and it is a 4.6 that you have, could I even use it in a '98 D1 in place of the 4.0???
Thanks ArmyRover, I sent him a PM. -GCNTSi.

on discoweb.org -- you can check with will.tillery and iamthedrillbit. They are also great at usually having what you need for your Disco.
