Default WANTED: Coniston Green D90

If you have a Coniston Green D90 Wagon or Soft Top you want to get rid of and you've priced it under 30k, Please let me know. I would prefer a 97 but any other year N.A.S. would do.

Thanks in advance!

LMAO..im sorry man, I've been on baby duty all day, im out of my mind...

The first post meant that now I may seriously consider this truck even though I have to go 6K over budget.

Right after, It hit me...that I can take the 300 out of the Def, put it into the Disco and the 4.0 with the ZF into the 90!

Maybe tomorrow, after I've regained some of my sanity I'll rethink it but for now, it actually seems like a good idea.

Gotcha.... Sounds like work though!

Isn't GA pretty easy to register vehicles in?

I'd e-mail and ask a lot of questions. Like exactly what is the car titled as.

watch the action here.

Well, off the bat, that truck is illegal... you can do a vin swap for a pre-1982 Series, but that'll still be illegal if they ever find out.

As I always say.. if it was easy/made sense to have a non NAS-Defender or 1982+ truck, there would be more people having it.

I just personally wouldn't risk it if I had to pay that much. If someone offered me a 2000 D90 for $1000, then yeah, I'd consider the risk.

But, its your decision in the end.

I totally agree with you, BUT... ther is avery thin way of doing it. I actually don't know the actual laws regarding military personnel importing their own vehicles, but I have friends that are in the military which have imported non-US spec. cars into the country by totaly legal means about 5-10 years ago. I mean, you cannot import a fleet, but I believe you can have one car shipped to the US perfectly legal and titled to your name. Please someone in active military duties clarify.

Thanks,
Carlos

Carlos, you are correct, and if my memory serves me right, students from other countries can do this as well...but their permit only lasts a limited amount of time.

Negative. Active duty, even those stationed overseas, cannot import a non US-spec car unless it is compliant with all related regulations (NHTSA, EPA, etc). Vehicles purchased outside of the Armed Forces system and not built to U.S. standards are considered "gray market" vehicles and require clearances from the DOT and EPA.

Ok...so I've had the 109 IIa and sold it and I miss it. Today im going to pick up a IIa 88'...BUT I still want a Coniston Green D90 SW.

If you know of one that has lower than 150k miles and under 25k let me know. I've seen all the ones on the sites at the moment (ebay, lrx, RN, etc.) but they over my budget. If you know of any truck that's NOT on the sites, please let me know.

As always, your help with this search is greatly appreciated.
