Totally badass.
Love that truck - what color paint will you put on?
Paint is probably one of the last things on my to do list. I might just keep it the og russet brown and lose the black stripe (never really liked that) or maybe the light tan (forgot the exact name), or white.
Right now the gas gauge isnt working (sending unit i believe) so I jus give her a good shake and listen for gas sloshing in the tank. Also the once peppy 3.5 has lost its balls when I get on the gas... Idles smooth as silk, but once I step on it, it kind of chokes over itself...

The 3.5 was never "peppy". The carbies are a mongrel to tune. The first thing you might want to check is that it has oil and the right type in the dampeners on top of the carbies.

I guess me saying the 3.5 was "peppy" is relative. Compared to a chevy v8, no, but compared to my previous FJ-60's I-6, yes it was much more "peppy." IMO it also had more balls than my 99 4.6 HSE which I no-longer have either.
After having repeated problems with the Z-S carbs, sourcing parts, etc., I substituted them for an edelbrock intake and 4-barrel. I think my problem is arising from the ignition (distributor) or the fuel pump.. Any experience with the Mallory distributors and ignition systems that are made for these 3.5s?
How many CFM is your carby. Anything over about 350 would cause a bad response on full throttle
Actually its a 600 CFM Edelbrock... Edelbrock provides an intake manifold and 4brl carb for these 215 V8's, although they suggest using a 500 CFM which happens to be the smallest carb they make. Either way it sounds like what I have fitted is too big Thanks for the input btw!

I ran a 500 holley on a 4.4 and it was too much when I opened the throttle until I got the exhaust breathing better and made other changes. A 500 on a 3.5 is way to big.

I'm not positive, but I think Edelbrock's carb is a Holley. My son is running a 500 on his Stage One (with a 4.0) and it goes like a rocket.

Well thats just great then that Edelbrock put this little package together for the Rover 3.5's when its not going to work properly... I wonder how compatible the intake manifold will be with other carbs other than the Edelbrock.
