Default Bought a Rangie!!!

It's not a new one but it is new to me!! It is a 4.6 litre V8 and it sounds wonderful!!!It has been awhile since I have had a V8 in a Landy and I am remembering what I have been missing... minus the MPG of course. I cant wait to take it off road and see what it can do once I figure out the Air suspension and what it is capible of doing.Maybe I will bypass the air thing and get a coil conversion.Any ideas on this??
Anyway I am off to wax it and figure out what all the toggle switches and buttons do.Man this thing has way more stuff on it than my series 3!

Sweet ride, congrats on your purchase! I think you'll love the 4.6 P38, my friend has one and he's looking to do some kind of coil conversion on his sometime soon...good luck with everything!

Andrew, regardless of your dismay of your recent departure of the Disco...you have done well this nice looking Rangie....

Perhaps when you first attempt to get the tires muddy on this beauty.....you can listen to classical music, wear your smoking jacket and chew on the stem of your pipe...

Nice pics

We've had a couple of p38's (4.6 HSE's). Nice vehicles, although I never liked the handling as much as a regular coil sprung Range Rover Classic, but they do ride very well.

Personally I'd love to see one lifted with 35 or 36" agressive mud terrains and some other suitable off road gear. I did think about looking for a 2.5DSE as a DD but decided against it in the end.

Several places Paddock Spares, Simmonites, etc sell coil conversion kits, personally if I was going to swap the air to coil I'd want to be looking at a 3-5" lift at the same time and dramitically incrase articulaiton.

Then again I like my off roaders to be well, off roaders..........

Large alloy wheels, road biased tyres and pretty paintwork aren't really my thing.

Good idea..but I'm more of a Cuban sorta smokin' guy. BTW when you suggested chewing on my pipe I thought you should know I sold my Crack Pipe on E-Bay.I know we had good times with it but I needed the cash for my Range Rover. Sorry.

Do not change to coils. The airbags will do fine. You can have the computer adjusted to give you some more lift if needed. I would just put a spacer under the airbags. This will not let the rover kneel as low as you need but it will give you more clearance when off road. You will love the hill decend mode. do not touch the gas or brakes and just steer the vehicle down the grade. If you are going off road I would change out the rims also. the alloys take a beating on the rocks.

Congrats on a good looking addition to your Rover stable!

The looks of the P38 RR's is really starting to grow on me, wouldn't mind one for myself in the future.
