I was looking through CarDomain and found this, first time I had ever seen it...

It's not the real thing...but Photoshopping it indicates that it looks pretty damn good.Would like to see a 3/4 shot of a D1 wih 03 Lights.

IBJETTIN,

Check your e-mail. I sent you something in your e-mail about doing this conversion on a D1.

I thought I got back to you?? Sorry, I do get a lot of emails about the conversion. I try to get to all of them, but it gets difficult.

The picture shows the answer to your question about DI and (03'-04' DII) differences. The biggest difference that would prevent this mod on a DI is the front fender. You could see where the front turn signal is, it slopes down a bit. The DII's are more squared off. This is why you would change the front fenders. I believe it is true that the 99.5'-2002 DII headlamp fits a DI, but in 2003 they changed the entire unit.

Not a problem HF I don't mind getting emails about it at all.

I try to reply as quickly as possible, but sometimes one may slip... I know when I was looking to do it there wasn't much information about it at all. I emailed one guy on cardomain and never heard back. I figured if I'm going to show it, I should tell you how I did it.

So I am working on a thread that will be posted here on LRO. I will show pictures of my conversion.

If I didn't have such an adorable 1yr old, I would have posted it all ready

by the way HF, my Disco may look like that soon enough I am getting an 04' bumper and some Hurricanes I'll keep ya all posted.

I have to agree with you there... aren't they all in some way, but all the cosmetics on STORMTROOPER are amazing!

JC How is the weather down there? These storms are making the humidity out of control around here!!!

So do the D2 fenders bolt right up to a D1 or do you think there is more work to changing the fenders. Like I said my D1 is my daily driver right now, so when/If I do this I only have the weekend to get it together in. Once I start I wouldn't be able to stop and start again. Just trying to see what parts I would need before going through with it.

Thanks HF and JC!
HF - I Love the idea of making a SE03 or SE04 decal It'll throw people for a loop - if anything a fun conversation piece.

apbtpetey - Did a bit of searching but I found it It looks like the front fender was trimmed to make the DII turn signals fit.

He has a great looking DI! You may want to shoot him an email and find out what he did to convert his front end. It looks like you'd be combining his work and the work I did... I think you may need more than a weekend

IB,

Thanks for taking the time to find the pics for me. Doesn't look like a lot has to be cut from the fenders, but it would be time consuming none the less. This might be a project for me to do when work slows down and I can take a few days off, but I do intend on doing it.
