Default I Lifted My P38!!

Well, after 10 hours of hard work (not bad for not having a lift) its done.
Heres some pics:

The whole kit

up on some blocks to get under

Jonsey getting the tires off

First air bag off

and the first shock

Alloy + steel = a bitch

I was victorious

Rear axel dropped

Rear spring and shocks in and ready for the next day

Left around 8:30 PM
sleep
Got up at 4:30 AM and started working around 5:15 AM

Lifted it off the ground before the sun could even rise

Al working on the EAS overide

Front shocks and springs in by 10:00 AM

Getting the tires back on

My dad whatching the final lookover

The final result.

I go back on Thursday for my new tyres (if I get ATs) and add spacers to the front to even it out. Other than that its prety much done and is awsome. I love the way it came out and am extreamly excited to get new tires that will actually fit the lift

Hey you want to do it for me? That kicks ass so much. I would love to have a lift on my P38. You should fly to Bama and really put it on my truck!

Thanks! As for the tires, I can get BFG ATs by Thursday, but I would really like MTs. The problem is the price. To find 32-33" MTs for an 18" wheel is exspensive, but I think it would be awsome. Also I can get the ATs for cheap.

So we'll see. What do you guys think? Kick ass MTs for pleanty of $$, or prety cool ATs for cheap?

Haha, it would be easier the second time around, but I'm good. You definetly should do it thou. Its really awsome, and best part.. no more EAS to bitch at me! But if you do do it, I would suggest a bit heavier duty front spring to avoid using a spacer. (I used 781's in the rear, and 761's in the front.)

I love my AT's........ They may not look as cool, but they work far better for a daily Driver

x2! A/T's rule, just got a purty new set of shoes for my trail truck!

Lemon- That looks GREAT! Now call Alan Bates up and get some of his toys!

On a side note, I think you will be a lot happier with the "real" shocks and springs. My ex and I did the same set-up with his 1996 HSE. The damn air bags kept crapping out so finally we just did the swap one weekend. His truck is still going strong with 254K on it (and no more air bag EAS system drama)!

Alright, I guess ATs will do. And I would love dome of Allans stuff, particularely the rear bumper with tire mount and rock sliders.

Thats good to hear, its nice knowing I wont have to deal with the EAS anymore!

I got my A/T's (265/75 R16) from a guy on EBAY. Free shipping, no taxes and shipped straight to the office (NOT such a good idea if you work in a high-rise)! All five were: $808.75. Let me know if you need his information.

Yeah, muds would be great, but maybe another day. Hopefully in the future I could have my 18" ATs and 16" MTs and switcht them out in the winter and for roading.

Easier than that, bring that truck to Little Rock and have Rovermech do a lift for you. I'll try and get him to post pics of the P38 his shop's doing. They're slightly modifying/improving the lift.

What kind of mods are they doing to it? What kin of springs are they using as well? And how high are they shooting for?
I would like to know how there results turn out. That sounds interesting.
