This is my first Landy! Bought it on Ebay, but got a complete run-down on it's history. Vehicle will get a full overhaul before I disappear from Norway to Turkey on 1st June. Have an HGV workshop available, so any nasties will get sorted in the next few months. Just hope it gets from Harrogate to Geilo in Norway!
I'm excited as hell about this vehicle and an overland trip through Turkey! Actually, strictly speaking not my first Landy - had a Dakar for 3 months in 1998, but problems with V8 forced me to resell it. ![]() |

It is a 2.5 diesel, but it was originally a 3.5 petrol. I'm not currently sure of which 2.5, as I'm ignorant of who makes the 2.5 diesel in the 110, but the current owner thinks it's a Perkins. I will get this confirmed tomorrow. If it's not a good engine, I'll get it replaced by a recon during the pre-trip overhaul. Not taking risks when driving through central and easter Turkey! :-)
I'm currently trawling the net for replacement parts to take with me, so the ID on the motor is quite important! My Dad ran Bristol buses from London to Kathmandu overland from about 1958 to 1980, so he's helping me out with parts lists ... |
