Default My '73 Range Rover 4.2

Here it is ladies and gentlemen ! My Range Rover classic of the year 1973.
I bought it in 2000 in Birmingham England and over the years tried various engines and gearboxes, swapped the chassis for a good one that I had blasted and galvanised. Bought the old racing engine from Team Saluki and have rebuilt that completely.
Fitted the old but trusty 4 speed manual and stuck a Discovery I dashboard in it. Did loads of other stuff like moving the hi-lo lever from right to left, fitted a later type handbrake (cable operated) with the rubber gaiter from a Defender, re-did the headlining, fitted a full Janspeed stainless sports exhaust, fitted Freestyle alloys, (not in these pictures)
Raised the suspenders with 2 inch, cranked radius and trailing arms, rebuild the axles with various new items etc. etc.
I've put it up for sale as it's that modified the German TUV (testers) don't want to come near it.

The Dash

The crossbolted JE 4.2

Enginebay

Galved chassis

The panel under the windscreen is a different colour because of the LHD to RHD conversion that I did when I swapped the chassis.

That's all folks. Carry on.

OK, So when are you going to do some Real work to it?

Actually I like it alot, and have had a soft spot for 2dr Rangies for sometime. Do you deliver? Any chance you can get a RoRo price to the East Coast?

I could possibly find out a price if you have a serious interest.
It still needs some work done though.
Fit the doors I've got spare and use the skin of the current ones, fit a new gasket to the thermostat housing, fit the new brake discs at the rear which I have spare.
It could do with a lick of paint and not many of the panels are straight. That never bothered me though.
Cosmetics are only for looking at.
Gearbox is fine, whines a bit but it's a 4 speed manual so that's normal.
Engine has less than 100 kms. on it since rebuild.
It runs on propane and on petrol (gas ) Switchable while you drive.
It comes with most if not all the trim and carpets. That needs fitting/cleaning/painting whatever you like.
There are no rustholes in the body. There is surface rust though.
I've redone the headlining, looks nice.
Fitted later model rear sliding windows as these don't rot like the early ones.
Seats are fine although the rubber diaphram under the seat could do with a new one I think.
Comes with lots of spares, (ignitions, alternators, cast exhaust manifolds, a full EFI system (less intake manifold) and everything else I can find in the shed that says Land rover on it.
I'm converting to diesel as sad as it is having to say goodbye to the Rover V8
If you have a serious interest, drop me a line.
