Cool My D90

Hello Everyone,

I just want to introduce you guys my new ride a 98' D90 300 Tdi. Bought it with 165500 Km last week for $13,000.

Here are some pics, notice on the first pic that the gas can is located under the front passenger door and the gas cap behind the door instead of been on the back like most D90, i really don't have an explanation for this, anybody?? I'm not sure but will this make it difficult to fit sliders??,

the second pic shows the dashboard is different from the defender's found in the USA, it has the A/C mounted on to it, personally i think this is better because it gives you more room for your legs but the only negative part (for me is not but others love the air vents) of this is that you can't open the air vents, this is original from factory, built in Solihull-England.

I'm already making my Christmas list so mods are coming! as well as more pics!

Peter

Huh, interesting, you've lost the front vent flaps and the dash tray! Yours must be something like a CKD (Complete Knock Down) version or something! Very interesting gray panel!

As for the filler tank, every 90 and defender 90 up until the TD5 had the filler cap there. Except V8 90s that is.

The fuel tank is ridiculously small at about 48 litres.

You'll have no trouble with rock sliders, I have them and they are a dead easy fit too! See picture. Mine is a 200Tdi.

So what have you got on your wish list then?

Great looking D90 you got there !
Yeah all the Defenders up to 1998 that i seen inside and out, 3 to be exact and the new 07' model, (there are not to many Defenders in Panama) have that exact gray panel with the A/C, rear screen wiper switch and the cigar lighter on it. The radio is on the cubby box but thats a personal choice.

The fuel tank is stated on the manual that is 60 liters and on a brochure that i have around the house says is 54 liters. The thing is its "small". Oh its nice to know i wont have problems fitting sliders on the future, thanks.

Well I already bought some Hella 7" H4 Replacement Headlamps as well as Hella Twin Supertone Horn Kit, Convex mirrors and a Optima BLue Top battery. I'm starting with the basics changing the hose, time belts, filters, etc making sure everything is working like it should be, i want this bad boy to last for ever. My next purchase will be a Snorkel, wading kit, Turbo timer and a pair of fog lights. Thats all i can afford for now, but beginning next year, depending on the cash flow, I will get a scorpion racing or equipe extreme tubular winch bumper and suspension parts that can hold on some 35' tires, change the brake rotors and hit the trails.

Any ideas are welcome !

Saludos
