Default My Series II

I have been on here for a couple of months now and I am finally getting around to posting some picks. She definately aint pretty but a work in progress. Bought from the factory in 60 by my grandfather and been in the family ever since.

Planning on getting 16 wheels and putting on 32x9 Super swamper TSL's. Currently has 27x8.5 on 14's.

Converted to selectable locking hubs.

Added air horn that plays dixie (better known from the dukes of hazzaard. I guess thats my redneck side coming out)

Factory option capstan winch

Switched to alternator and recently gutted and rewired entire vehicle

I added a few switches for back up lights radio, and fog/driving lights. CB going in soon

so do you use those horns to flag down passing ocean liners or to scare off freight trains?

Looks like a great start to a project good luck with it brother.

Good to see more series owners join the board! Welcome aboard! Not that my opinion matters, but if I were you, I'd restore it and keep it tidy for future generations!

Its been family owned for 48 years so no plans to ever get rid of it. Eventually it will be restored but its definately going to take some time. I'm just glad it still runs like a champ so I can take it out every now and then.

oh yeah the horns do scare of the trains but mostly do a good job of drawing attention.

Nice clean, and professional looking job on the rewire. They're always so much nicer once they're converted to Alternators. Good looking truck. Does the capstan winch still work properly? Those are awesome looking on the series!

Yeah the winch still works great. Haven't used it in a while but still works. The wiring was a lot larger project than originally planned, but we added a lot more fuses and pretty much separate wiring for everything. Had all wires labled but some of the stickers are starting to peel off so I need to relabel before I can't figure out where any of it goes. It helped to have a father that was an electrician.
