Who cares if it looks like ass, its there to prevent water in the engine. I plan on doing a custom snorkel too, I do agree however, it could be painted black.

Why does everybody want to paint white PVC black? There is already a black product out there it's called ABS pipe. That way when you scratch and ding it will still be black.

That being said "I" would not myself nor recommend using PVC or ABS I mean yes it's easy and readily available at any store and all that but there are much better products out there. For example get a piece of 3" stainless pipe custom bent at a muffler shop or find a vendor online that carries 3" stainless pipe. It will look a lot better and be more durable and who would not want a shiny piece of stainless steel.

didn't we have this discussion already? it's mainly for looks. and that design will catch water when it rains.

seems like a waste of time if its "just for looks", where I'm from, when you get a snorkel, you use it, not to make the truck pretty

450AUD for a Discovery Snorkel that's 367USD that's not any cheaper then buying one here. Not to mention having to ship it from down under.

How do you prevent a bird from building its nest in there? j/k

Put some sort of screen on it so leaves and large pieces of debris don't get in there.

Hold on.... Before there were bolt on Land Rover parts from around the world available with anyone with a credit card these types of mods were the norm. I have seen Series trucks from around the world with mods such as this that worked just fine. The beauty of Land Rovers and the spirit behind them has always been function over form.Dont brain damage the guy because he hasnt bought a Mantec snorkle for a fuck load of cash. I say good for you for using some inginuity rather than your wallet. IMO ....paint it black and definately get a grill for the intake.
