Default Who says Disco's are top heavy?

Went back out to the lake again today to run some of the trails I usually don't hit. Just to see something new and maybe find something more fun that what we usually run. Most of it was just a pain becuase I had to keep getting out to cut tree limbs and junk away from the trail so that it wouldn't scratch the hell out of the Disco.

Basically the one highlight of the whole thing was this little left turn going downhill at the same time. The left side of the hill descends much quicker than the right side so it throws you off balance every time. :th_biggrin2:

you didn't go beyond 10 degrees in your lean, don't worry about that. your bouncyness was just because you went beyond your suspension's ability to articulate.

your Disco will go way beyond that type of lean, in some situations you can get close to the scary side of a 45 degree lean gauge.

If you ever venture into that type of off camber off roading, remove the rack!

I think he is running OME 3" suspension. Not bad flex with retained springs.

Que?

That's a stock suspension! It's gotta be.

My retained springs will drop the top of my 35's to the level of the bottom of my rock slider!

Really?

My HD OME flexes the same as his.. The springs dont stretch much. and the OME shocks are barely longer than stock.

The HD is the problem, the spring rates are far too high unless the rig is loaded down very heavily.

I'll try to find the post of me testing my 35's for interference, some video that was shot at the time.

you can lean way farther than that. i am best friends with the scary side of 45 degrees. ive gotten so close to tippin, i was unbuckling and getting ready to jump out while my friend sat there swearing and looking at the ground. no joke if i would have driven up a 4 inch rock on the high side i would have rolled, and when i turned my wheels downhill to stop from rolling, i slid all the way down. it was awesome.

There is a spot around here where I can test my flex. I'll take pics. I don't think my HD ome flex at all.

my RR1 looks much closer to the RR1 in the the photo, except my Safari Gard springs are retained with a much softer spring rate than the OME HD.

I also have my 35" spare, storm case with parts and tools, Powertank, and recovery geat in the load space. The rig sits level when loaded up, so I found no reason to go HD.
