Default 01 P38 4.6 HSE immobiliser problem!

I have a fault with 2001 p38, engine wont start, will crank just no run... run diagnostic check with rovacom come up with CPS, replaced with genuine part still no run. Alarm & Immobiliser both turned OFF with rovacom, everything looks ok..... Still no run. Check for fault codes and getting P1673 intermittent fault present?
The car was driven to where it was parked locked with plip (remote) lazy lock closing drivers window, which first off didnt respond but did on second attempt.. On return to car following day unlock with plip as usual opened tailgate first ,close tailgate enter car no start. Engine cranked but would not run. I have lots of years with classics and i only bought this because classics are not easy to come by here in Dubai, almost the end of the p38`s with 70k klix (43500miles) reasonable chance it would take a little abuse in dessert! He He!

The only problems i had offroad was my inabilty not the car! GREAT FUN !!

I would be REALLY gratefull if it was possible to shed some light on this problem, though if not i will keep you informed unless i HAVE to go to landrover, cos they wont tell me anything...as you well no!

Changing RF receiver to modified version today. Part No.YWY500170.

if there is no problem with the security I would suspect the wiring, checked resistance and a short to ground.

Do you have fuel pressure?

The fault code P1673 has been diagnosed as "immobilizer signal/ ECM not configured..." I don`t understand this!
There are two ways the system immobilizes the car, 1: stops you cranking it and the other cut fuel and spark. Hence the CPS fault code.I havent found out how or where it is shut down i would imagine in becm/ecm.
It turns over as normal just no fuel and no spark. The engine has been immobilized though we haven`t found out the reason.
I ordered RF receiver part no. YWY500170 the latest one that landrover fitted and after two days chasing around the UAE it turns out they are trying to supply the original part from the early cars that caused loads of trouble AFR1953. I was changing this as precaution, elimination! (have to get one back in uk next month).Though it appears to operate as normal, and no battery drains that i have noticed. When i first bought the car the battery was 9 months old and absolutely knackered so it was replaced. Because of the heat here its hard to get a battery with a warranty on it.
I have changed the drivers doorlock/actuator because it didnt superlock properly and i read that could be the cause of my problem.. ( I have taken it to pieces and there is NOTHING wrong with it)
Thanx for your interest, i am struggling now! Very tempted to let landrover sort it ! Is there an easy override? The immobilizer can`t be switched off coz its active.
You mention EARTH and resistance? ALL the rest of the car functions as per normal it just doesn`t start.. The fuse box LOOKS like new. I`ll check the earths that i can find but i don`t think its that simple...
Cheers

Sounds like it has just lost the security synch between the BECM and the engine ecu,the Bosch Motronic ones will allow cranking but no sparks or fuel. The earlier Gems ones wont crank, spark or fuel. Its 2 mins on Testbook to get the ecu to relearn,Rovacom has this function too.
