Default 02 RR Purchase

I am about to put my wife's BMW X5 on the market in hopes to purchase a 2002 Range Rover. I have been looking at a few that I like, mostly around the 12k range. I drive a disco II so I know how the maintenance issues are. What do you guys recommend or love about your RR's? Do you think its a good trade?

Thanks,

Will

If you think you have issues with a d2 then you will be pulling your hair out with a 02 p38 RR. The air suspension and the electronics are a nightmare in that car. Ask any Land Rover mechanic about the BeCM and they will cringe. LR stopped making good Range Rovers in 95 when the P38 came out. You could get coil springs to solve the air suspension problems but you will never overcome the body control module (big expensive fuse) issues.
