In the midst of all that, this was actually an excellent post.

Failure to change these air filters will lead to overheating of the fans (2) electrical circut, and will cause the circutboard in the fusebox to burn, which can cause all sorts of problems.
If your dash lights come on when you depress the pedal, it is time for a new ABS accumulator ball. These go bad after about 7 years, as the nitrogen in the diaphragm inside of it changes chemical composition, and renders the ball useless, offering no assist to the brake booster, which in turn makes the pump run too often, which can burn out the pressure switch on the Abs pump, making it VERY hard to stop the vehicle (if at all).
Another thing...if your EAS pump stops working (providing you still do have the air suspension, and someone else didn't already quit trying, and just put springs on it...) you can unplug the ground wire from the vehicle harness-side of the multiplug that goes to it, and ground it to the body, bypassing the (stupid) thermal switch. When the pump gets too hot, it trips the thermal switch, usually rendering the pump useless, and in need of replacement (another mechanic special). This will save you between $300-2800 (seriously).
Anyway, these are just 3 of the things that go wrong with P38's that mechanics like to charge an arm and a leg for.
Yes, and as someone else said...Get the Rave CD...If you can't get one for free, get one on ebay for about $8.00. The CD has full manuals for your vehicle, and is the most helpful reference to have when owning a rangie

I'm sorry you had a bad time with your P38. They are excellent cars, amazing ride, bags of refinement. Not knocking the Toyota, just a matter of taste.
