Default Brake change 97 vs 00

Quick question. I had a 97 Disco a long time ago. I remember the brakes being very easy to change. I think it took my longer to jack the Disco up and remove the wheels than it did to change the brakes. I now have a 00 Range Rover 4.6. Are the brakes the same? If not, are they still fairly simple to do?

Last question. I remember at that time using after market brakes and all but the Lockheed sucked! They would squeak very badly. I ended up just going back to Land Rover and getting ripped off on the price to not have to deal with the squeaking. Is the situation still the same or have some aftermarket companies figured out how to make no squeaking brake pads?

Thank you

easy as hell, two bolts for the caliper, two bolts for the rotor, and one big number three philips screw in the rotor to hold it on.

just have fun getting the tires off.

do yourself a favor and pay to have a rotation, while they are doing it get a look for yourself at all the brakes and then have them clean the hubs and wheels of rust and corrosion and apply antiseize on the hubs. also check to see if their arent leaks from the axles. the rears are easy but the front axles seals arent.

Thanks for the response. Would you mind explaining a little more the "rotation" part? Is this just to get things loosened up for the brake job?

Thanks

loosens up the wheels so when you take them off you dont get stuck. they freeze on the hubs.
