Hello, I purchase my 03 Range Rover about a year ago. It has about 51,000 miles. When i bought it I replaced the Pads, Rotors, and Tires. I've put about 10,000 miles on since. On monday going down the freeway my wheel started shaking while I was slowing down. It felt like a flat so I pulled over and checked it out. All tires were fine. I brought it to my brothers body shop to have an alignment guy who has never worked on a range rover look at it. He said he thought it may be the caliper getting stuck. The front passenger rotor had a blue tint like it got hot. After that it didnt do it until today. Same symptoms but i kept driving to get home. I could here the brake squeaking when I slowed and almost a grinding when I accelerated. When i got home i checked the brake and it was way warmed than the other side and has quite a bit of brake dust on it. Does anyone have any ideas what this may be? I am trying to watch my spending right now so I think I would be able to fix this with a buddy that knows quite a bit about cars, but being a Rover I want to make sure there is not something I am missing. Do you think it is just a warped rotor or does it sound like a bigger issue? I've noticed once the car cools down i have no symptoms. Any help would be great, Thanks!!!

If the pedal gradually sinks, the master cylinder is worn out. If you have to pump the brakes in order to get any pedal, you've got air in the lines.
Look for leaky wheel cylinders and have the system bled. A low pedal could also mean your brakes are out of adjustment. With many older cars the self adjusters get worn to the point they no longer function.

If rotor is blue from the heat, it will need replacing. There are caliper kits available to rebuild the caliper. Not a real hard job, a little time involved. Get a Rave CD or manual and you should be able to do it yourself. Or find an independent in the area who will do brakes on a Rover.
