Question In Car Stereo -Some Advice Please

Hi,

I have a 1997 Range Rover 4.6HSE (its lovely!!!!!), but the display is long since died on the CD player and it always a case of trial and error to get my treble/bass etc tweaked correctly - that and extremely hard listening!!!

I want to buy a replacement, and have 2 questions:

1. Can you advise the best place to buy one -second hand will be considered?
2. How do you remove the CD player?, have remove the plate on the front, and there seems to be small holes on the front on the left and right. I don't know what to do from that point onwards and don't want to tug on the bl**dy thing in case I break it.

Any advice anyone could offer regards the above would be great thanks!!

Regards
Lobby1972.

1. ebay, salvage yards or buy an aftermarket head unit.
2. there is a special release tool that slides into the holes and pops the clips that hold the stereo in place. You can pick these up at most car stereo shop/auto parts store. If your not in the mood for that I have found various small round items that work like coat hangers proceed on this one at your own peril lol.

rovervilleradio.com

carries OEM land rover radios, and in many cases can repair your radio.
