Dune Driving - Land Rovers Only

Hello to all members,

I am a UK expatriate working & living in Saudi Arabia. I recently bought a 1998 4.6 HSE. My previous car I used for dune driving was a Discovery. The Range Rover (although having a bigger engine) feels far heavier and more cumbersome. If, as I intend to do, take it out on camping trips in the sand, how will it perform compared to the ever-reliable Disco?
If there is anyone who has had experience in driving the Range Rover through soft sand, then your feedback would be gratefully recieved!
