Default Let's debate oil, NOT!

Knowing how much you guys love to debate oil I had a quick question. I just bought by 00 Range with 73k miles. Was going to start running Mobile one in it when I was told that "if it has never had synthetic it isn't good to start it now." Is there any truth to this?

Thanks

First, what weight Mobil One?

Second... Synthetic does not CAUSE problems, but it can REVEAL problems(Oil leaks, etc).

He suggested Mobile One 15/50 I believe. But suggested since it is hihger mileage and hasn't run synthetic I go for Castrol 20/50 I think he said.

Well currently my RR doesn't leak any oil in the driveway and yes it has oil in it. Not looking to start it leaking.

Thanks all

Hi ,I did change from Motul synthetic 15/60 to mobil-1- 0/50 four month ago , to be honest, with out a polemic discussion on oils I am very happy with the change ( and for my pocket too),oil consumption is- 0 -so do it!!! and do not weary nothing is going to happen ,I would strongly recommend the change.

Try Royal Purple 15w 40. It is a synthetic and works great in my disco with 53k miles.
