I have a '97 SE RR & wondered if anyone has ever attempted to modify their tilt steering wheel so that it comes down further(?) . There is not much of a tilt range on these earlier SE's, but I noticed that when I test-drove a '98, I think it was, the tilt wheel did in fact come down further.C'mon, guys, I'm a new member & just bought my Range Rover a couple of months ago. I posted two questions concerning tilt steering modification, & driver's door/remote problem, but haven't gotten a reply to either one. Did I word the questions incorrectly, or did I fail to introduce myself? I took a shower, so I know it can't be a problem with my hygiene. Seriously, though, I really would appreciate some input. My only income now is SSI, so I can't afford to take my RR (which I love) to a mechanic; I have to do the work myself. Last edited by Mark1 : 06-06-2005 at 12:28 AM. Reason: update |

Hi Mark1 & welcome...
Sorry, my 91 RR was in the days before LR decided to introduce Tilt steering! Although it would be nice to have. I would of thought that your restricted movement in tilt steering is for a reason & wouldn't recomend trying to push it beyond its boundaries... Have you played with the seat height by rocking the front & back of the lower cushion upwards? It is suprising how high you can bring the seat up in total. (head pushing into the ceiling panel) Good luck, Andy ![]() |
