Default New Member - EAS tools

Myself and a few others have released a free windows tool set for working with the Range Rover MY(95-02) EAS subsystem. I personally have also designed and manufacturer a hand-held device for reseting the EAS, called the EAS Buddy Box. Most people will already be aware of these tools as we released them back in October of 2007. But just in case, I wanted to post some details.

The EASunlock Software suite is designed to run on a Windows 2000 and higher OS with a DB9M serial port. The software suite is provided free of charge to anyone but comes without warantee. The EASunlock software requires a DB9F to OBDII serial cable.

The EASunlock software suite comes with the three main functions that any Range Rover owner would need for the EAS subsystem. The software will Reset an EAS fault, Read the Stored EAS faults and Re-calibrate the EAS stored profile heights.

Serial Cables can be purchased and Software can be downloaded from.

The EAS Buddy Box enables the user to reset the Range Rover Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) computer. The device is powered solely by the cars own OBDII interface port and requires no further user interaction. Once the device is plugged into the OBDII port, communication is established with the EAS and the reset commands are sent out automatically. The device will continue to send the reset commands until the device is unplugged from the OBDII port.

Got the cable, loaded software then upgraded, found my com port and it worked great. Cleared codes and all. Thanks a bunch. Now I'm wondering if there are more diagnostic programs out there that I could use?

Iam glad it worked. Now if just more people would but the EAS Buddy Box I would be happier.

Unfortunately there are no other free software packages for other P38 diagnostic subsystems. The EASunlock is the only one to my knowledge that is free. We who developed the software went to a great deal of effort to keep it free and the knowledge behind the system open and avaliable.

There are some free OBDII emissions stuff that is sort of free but you need hardware for the computer/car interface.
