Its glued and perhaps (plastic) welded - don't remember precisely. You have to remove the entire door panel and access the speaker surround from the rear. Only then can you decide if its worth prising off the pad. Why do you want it off? If its to get to the speaker, you need to get the whole thing off. To do that, you need to remove 4 screws and then gently prise out the plastic press-locks around the edge as you pull the panel from the door. The 4 screws are (1) in the latch handle, (2) and (3) in the armrest (access from below) and (4) under the tweeter cover which has to be prised off.. gently so you don't break the tabs. Once you've unhooked the panel don't yank it away.. there are cables attached which you have to disconnect first.

I want to re-do the leather.

Is it really plastic welded?

Regards,
Tom

From memory it's plastic welded on. You could try drilling out the plastic weld and then gluing or scewing it back on, but I'd get a door card off a wrecker as a test bed.
