Default p38 leaking coolant, help.

i have a 96 4.6 hse. last november i had the water pump replaced and haven't had any problems since. other than it will run a little warm in the florida heat. until now...

sitting still with the engine off it holds coolant just fine. i'll crank it up and let it run until it hits a normal running temp, no problems there. then it seems it would hit a certain temp and then start pissing coolant, so i thought thermostat. i replaced it but i am still getting the same prob. i drove it to work this morning and the coolant held fine until i shut off the truck. i'm having a real hard time tracing the leak. it is dripping from the rear of the oil pan.

any advice, or anybody have a similar problem? thanks for any help.

intake gasket, AKA valley pan gasket normally leaks at the back where it cannot be noticed and then runs out over the bell housing onto the ground.
good luck.

Also check under your throttle body. There's a gasket there that will leak eventually. It'll leak onto your driver's side valve cover. Sometimes leaves a pink dry residue build up.

I wonder if the hose recall was done.

Ironically, that recall alos replaces that Jarvik 7 Looking thermostat.
