Question p38 radio upgrade

I have a 97 4.0 SE (UK version) with the Harmon Kardon set-up. Recently the head unit has started to go on the fritz - intermittent power supply at first and now its just dead although some internal LED seems to light up indicating that power is getting through to some places at least. I hear this is a common problem so I'd really appreciate any tips on how to repair or recommendations for a replacement unit that will work with the CD changer (Kenwood), antenna, all the amps and speakers (incl sub) and steering mounted controls?

I've identified that the original set, though badged "Land Rover" was made by Clarion. But I can't figure out what the correct model is; PRC 7618, PU 9836, PU 9836A or AMR 2672?? Images on the web all look the same. Why the different model numbers? ANY advice highly appreciated!

Radio problem

Mine started to lose the display, and I managed to find an Electronics shop in Birmingham who did it for around 100 and took under a week. Found him with a Google search, but I'm afraid I can't find contact details - this was a couple of years back.

Still, just wanted to say that you can get these things repaired and it was cheaper than a s/h unit off eBay.

True, have found repair offers around GBP 95 - 100 with a 6 month warranty, refurb units around GBP 200. Will be sending it off for repairs next week. Thanks for the tip!
