Question p38 Trip Computer

Hi all, newbie here,
I have finally bought myself another Rangie after 2 years without. Yipee. I have bought a '95 2.5 DSE P38. It has had a few problems but I am just about getting to the bottom of them now. The one that has me stumped at the moment is the trip mpg computer does not seem to work, no matter what I do with the stalk. What I need to know is what controls it, i.e where does the stalk connect too? Is there a separate unit or is it within some big box somewhere?
The trip mile works and resets to zero but I can't get any of the other functions to work. Any help and advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,
Barno

what other functions are you talking about? Are you just using the little button coming out of the bezel, or are you also using that side thing opposite your turn signals. That one is what controls everything else. There are 2 buttons, 1 with the bell the (speed setting) and the top button. Try using the top button if you haven't already.

Neither of the buttons on the end of the stalk work, I have tried both.
Hope this shines some light on any fixes.
Cheers,
Barno.

Just as a question, does your model actually have the trip computer feature? Diesel models tended to have less features than petrol ones.
