Default Passenger Window Makes Clanking Noise Once fully Up

Got in my 1998 range rover yest and my little cousin was sitting shotgun. He was raising the window in the truck and after it was fully up it made a loud clanking noise. It sounded like the window didn't know it was all the way up and it was trying to close even more , but it couldn't because it was fully up.

Can someone please tell me what they think the problem could be. I dont want to mess the motor up . thanks

i have similar issue. you probably got a warning in the display that the window is not set as well...

do you get one clank, or will it make multiple clanking noises rapidly in sequence? what appears to be happening on mine is the lift motor keeps turning after it should have stopped. there is an arc of metal with gear teeth cut into it which the motor's gear meshes with, and it would appear that some kind of stop or limiter for that arm has broken off. i have not extracted the regulator to check it out bc i havent had the time - you have to pull out the window first. so im not sure if this can be repaired simply or will in fact require a new window regulator. let me know if you find out anything
