Hi All,
well got the sunroof fixed. now I have a new ?? for you all, in my 95 4.0 we have a phone that was in the car when we bought it and when we started to play with the fuses noticed that the phone would turn on and off. I know that this must all be a part of the " in -car entertainment" but we did not get the book on this system with the owners manual. so are we able to remove( or just clip the main wire to the phone?) the 1995 phone without disrupting anything else? also the last owner changed the battery in the RR before we bought it and now the radio will not work I have been told ( by the service guy at local RR dealer) that you have to run the RR for an hour to "reset" the radio then put in some code??? is this true and do any of you know the code to put in the radio to make it work? Or where i could find the code? Thank all, Mary |

I have no experience with rangies, but with the disco's, the codes are unique to the vehicle, the dealer can give you the code if you give them your VIN #. Generally on the disco, once you start it up, you can enter the code (check your manual for how to do it), if you fail on entering it, you have to wait an hour for it to get back to the 'enter code' stage.

Here I found this but its for a 99 RR, it may apply tho :
Security Code SECURITY CODE INFORMATION To reduce the risk of theft, your audio unit was programmed with a four digit security code before the vehicle left the factory. Once activated, this code prevents the unit from functioning if it is illegally removed from the vehicle. There are 10,000 different codes - making your audio unit valueless to a thief unless he has the correct one. In addition, each unit is further protected by a time delay penalty system that effectively defies even the most systematic attempt to break the code. NOTE: If an incorrect code is entered, a one minute time delay is imposed before a second code can be attempted. Each time a wrong code is entered, the time delay doubles (2 min, 4 min, 8 min, etc.) making theft a very unattractive proposition. Your vehicle was supplied with a Security Information card. This card contains a record of the four digit security code, as well as the audio unit's unique serial number. The serial number is also stamped into the metal side of the unit and, in the event of theft, would confirm proof of ownership. NOTE: A spare Security Information card is supplied inside the back cover of the Service Portfolio in the literature pack. For further information on the Security Information card, consult the Owner's Handbook.
