I have a 2008 RRS. I noticed that water drops are coming from the sunroof every time it rains. If take it to a car wash, the water leak becomes more intensive. I have taken vehicle to two different dealers and they’ve told me that is absolutely normal for water to filer through the sunroof…I was wondering if everybody is experiencing the same issue…I just can’t conceive in my head for something like this to be normal…I have had many cars with a sunroofs and never I’ve had this type of problem before.
Thanks to all |

I am sorry to hear about your difficulties, I hate it when things do not function right. Here is my thoughts-
You own a 2008 and you have leaks? Take it back to the dealer and complain to them that you should have no leaks period. You don't pay Land Rover Prices to deal with leaks off the lot!--- I have an older LR and yeah I have leaks...but it is older and understandable to me to have a few leaks. I will say that I have no leaks from the sunroofs though and mine is a 2001. |

I have the RRS 06 and also having the same problem with leaks in the sunroof, but it only spills when I take it to an automatic carwash. I think it's because of so many pressure that the carwash machine does, but still don't have to spill even a drop inside the car. I also complain with the dealer and they checked it but everything appears to be good.

The Dealership wont like this but the only way to properly diagnose the water issue is to remove the Whole Headliner Board and water test to see where the water is coming from.
When the Discovery's were in production they too had water issues from over head only to find out that most of those issues were not sunroof related but most had leaky front windshields. The dealerships or repair shops can only assume or guess what might be causing the water issues unless they remove the headliner board and water test your problem, if you cant see it with your own eyes where the water is coming from how can you resolve the problem. I agree a new 08 should not have issues with water coming into the cabin this soon! Sunroof seals in general are really only designed for 3 reasons. #1) Reduce the amount of water flow into the lower tub assemble #2) Reduces the amount of wind noise #3) Helps prevent large objects like, twigs, leafs, egg corns, Halloween gremlins from blocking your drain tubes and forcing water into your cabin. All sunroofs leak, in reality it only take on granular of sand between your sunroof seal and the body of the car for water to come into the sunroof, also if you notice your sunroof seal is a combination of Rubber and cloth. If my memory is correct if you add water to cloth its like a sponge and attracts water. Bottom line if your drain tubs are "not blocked" and draining properly then your water issues are coming from somewhere else. Request the Service Manager to Have the Headliner Board Removed and water tested. They get paid either way. Hope this helps, let me know if i can help in anyway. Bill
