Default Suspension

I have a 1998 RR and am having problems with the suspension. What I am encountering is when I hit various bumps or get on a bad road my suspension starts to shake, even to a point where the vehicle feels like it is out of control. I even have some occurrences where my steering wheel will shake side to side when the suspension shakes. I started encountering this problem about a year ago. I recently had my air suspension checked and my shock absorbers replaced, but I am still encountering the problem. Is anyone having a similar situation and have any other ideas as to what may be causing this problem?

I am having the same issue. I have a 95 RRC and when i hit a bump at highway speeds, it scares the crap out of me. I dont know if there is a dampner or what, but it really is a safety issue. I would be interested in the cause and solution as well.

check the tie rod ends by pushing up and down on them. if they move alot they need replacement.

but the shaking in the steering over bumps is the steering dampner.

if it shakes at 50 it could be tires, or something else.

Check the panhard rod bushings. You'll need another person for this. One person watches the front axle while the second person moves the steering wheel side to side in a fast motion. If you see the front axle move side to side then you need new bushings. There are two on that rod and they are not expensive.

Thank you all for your help. Rovin4life, it was my steering dampner as you mentioned. Now my RR drives much better now.

Thanks again.
